Candidacy

CAN 101 - Introduction to RPC Candidacy
14%
Candidacy
Running for office as a candidate of the Revolution Party of Canada (RPC) is different than for the larger, neoliberal parties like the Liberals, Conservatives, and NDP. These differences are not just a result of our size, but also our strong views on capitalism and representative democracy.
RPC Candidates must still follow all the same Elections Canada rules and regulations as candidates for any other party.
Some of the key differences include:
- RPC campaigns focus less on individual candidates and much more on the party’s platform
- RPC candidates are not required to have prior political, legal, or business experience
- The RPC has much stricter limits on acceptable donations and campaign expenses
- A democratic leadership structure, rather than a powerful singular party leader
- Success is measured by growth and influence, not by winning a certain number of votes or seats
